Ones Up is dedicated to fostering economic mobility in Black and Brown communities through a career development program focused on healing, wellness, and social justice for youth aged 16-24. By creating spaces for young people to engage with social justice issues in their communities, Ones Up enhances their opportunities for upward mobility.

During a transitional phase involving a name and brand change, Ones Up approached us to design a logomark that would embody the confidence, strength, and resilience of their leadership and youth members. The resulting logo serves as an invitation to actively participate in the organization and embrace its core values.

Alex Peay, Founder & CEO of Ones Up

I've worked in the nonprofit space for 15 years as a founder and one of my biggest needs was a logo and brand that represents us and our work for the kids and communities we serve. Time after time we tried to get people who would try but it never would stick with our brand. Then we are recommended to What Else Studio and since that day, our world changed. They took their time and energy to help us cultivate not only a brand that speaks to us and those we serve, but they made us a logo that represents our culture, value, and principles.

The new logomark utilizes an architecturally inspired icon, forming a hand with a finger in the air, while also conveying a sense of buildings or structures rising up from below. Paired with bold and confident typography, this logo exudes confidence from miles away.

A before and after shows how we were able to simplify, and signify, growth of the Ones Up brand to create a stronger, more recognizable mark.

Colors that represent prosperity and wealth empower growth and learning, while a strong typographic system allows the brand to speak with authority and energy.

A refreshed web presence puts the new brand and its values at the forefront of the community it serves. The website serves as a new hub to spread their mission and invite new members to participate in their organization.
